Before the announcement of the decision by the Constitutional Court of Armenia, law enforcement reported new searches related to the elections.
Searches were conducted at the board member of the "Mother Armenia" party, political scientist Ervand Bozoyan. Law enforcement also reported the detention of representatives of the "Strong Armenia" party in Gavar in connection with pre-election bribery cases. Reports emerged against the backdrop of awaiting the Constitutional Court's decision on the parliamentary election results.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on May 22, it became known that law enforcement detained the chairman of the "Mother Armenia" party, Andranik Tevanyan, who is in second place on the candidate list for the "Prosperous Armenia" party. Prior to this, the prosecutor's office convinced the Central Election Commission to agree to criminal prosecution of the candidate. On May 22, SNB officers conducted searches at the office of the "Mother Armenia" party and at the apartment of its leader Andranik Tevanyan. Tevanyan's supporters at a protest demanded the release of the opposition figure. On May 23, Tevanyan was arrested for two months.
This morning, a search was conducted at the apartment of the board member of the "Mother Armenia" party, political scientist Ervand Bozoyan, and Bozoyan was taken to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, reports Yerevan Today.
The Investigative Committee confirmed information about investigative actions against Bozoyan. The press secretary of the agency, Kima Avdalyan, stated that they are being conducted within the framework of a criminal case, but did not provide further details, writes Armenia Today.
Within the framework of the case initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee, data was obtained that the head of the Gavar community office of the "Strong Armenia" party, along with supporters of the same party, transferred pre-election bribes of various amounts to a number of voters on the condition of voting for them during the parliamentary elections. A number of individuals have been detained in connection with the criminal case initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee, searches and other procedural actions have been conducted, News.Am also reports today.
Seven parties have appealed to the Constitutional Court regarding the final decision of the Central Election Commission on the parliamentary elections. The court has gone into deliberation, and the decision is to be announced no later than July 4. The applicants have presented all grounds for reviewing the election results, but the authorities raised the salaries of the Constitutional Court judges before the elections, which could be related to possible appeals against the results, the opposition indicated.
The "Prosperous Armenia" party of oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan, the "Armenia" bloc of former president Robert Kocharyan, and the "Strong Armenia" bloc of entrepreneur Samvel Karapetyan are among the parties that have appealed the results of the parliamentary elections to the Constitutional Court of Armenia. They are also the most pro-Russian participants in the parliamentary elections in Armenia, analysts noted earlier.
The parliamentary elections have effectively become a referendum on the future of the current government and Armenia's foreign policy course. A reference titled "2026 Elections to the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia" has been published on "Caucasian Knot".
