Residents of the settlement near Volgograd complained about the broken roads.
Local residents are outraged by the condition of the roads on all central streets of the working settlement "Krasny Yar" in the Zhirnovsky district. According to them, no repair work has been done for about ten years.
Residents of Krasny Yar complained that the central streets of the settlement are in such a deplorable state that it is dangerous to move along them both by car and for pedestrians.
As of today, this situation has reached a critical point; it has become practically impossible to travel on these streets by vehicle, and bus drivers refuse to enter the bus station in the settlement, reports the publication V1.ru.
"In addition, in the absence of sidewalks on some streets, children are forced to walk on the broken roads to school. These road surface damages are dangerous for both drivers and pedestrians," residents say.
Residents of Krasny Yar also note that there is another problem related to the roads. New street lighting was installed along the central streets of Vokzalnaya, Oktyabrskaya, and Novaya as part of a federal program. After this street lighting was transferred to the administration's balance, no repairs have been made to the broken lights. Residents place the responsibility on the local administration, particularly on the head of the settlement.
"As of today, 40% of the streetlights are out of order. That is, what was funded by budget money is simply falling into disrepair without proper maintenance. In the absence of normal road coverage, it has become simply dangerous to move along these streets in the dark. Let us repeat: children walk to school on these streets," residents emphasized.
"The Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Sarpinsky Island complained about the dangerous road to the pier. City dwellers claimed that getting to the auxiliary pier is extremely inconvenient.
