The replenishment of sand on the beaches of Anapa raised questions among Telegram users.

Telegram users doubted that the replenishment of the beaches of Anapa with new sand was really necessary, and the continuation of work in the midst of the resort season caused their dissatisfaction.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on June 26, the authorities reported the opening of 72 beaches in Anapa, but remained silent about the work on pumping out fuel oil from sunken tankers. Earlier, the governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratiev, compared the sand on the beaches of Anapa and Thailand, while the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Chernyshenko, compared the beaches of Anapa and the French Riviera.

Activists were concerned that the quality of the sand being used to replenish the beaches of Anapa is drastically different from the sand of the dunes. This could destroy the reputation of the city as a resort, activists believe. New sand hardens after rain and turns into a suspension in the water, Telegram users pointed out.

Since early morning, work has been underway to level and sift sand on the section from the "Volna" beach to the "Parus" beach, blogger Yuri Ozarovsky reported today on his Telegram channel.

"Kavkaz beach, hotels: Sibriz, Gridzhio, Green Park. Active work on sifting sand from stones," he wrote in another message.

This message received two comments on his Telegram channel.

"Honestly, all these actions only cause bewilderment and one single question - why?" asked Marina***.

"They piled 50-70 cm, but they are leveling it to 15-25 cm," emphasized Roman Vorobyov.

Prolonged work with sand on the beaches has caused irritation among vacationers

Blogger Andrey Makovozov recommended visiting the beaches of Vityazevskaya Spit, particularly Tortuga, where the sand has not been replenished.

"There are no people around, just bliss and the native sand, not imported! If the central beaches seem too noisy, be sure to check out Tortuga. Here, there is a wide strip of soft golden sand, a gentle entrance to the sea, and significantly fewer vacationers," he writes on his Telegram channel.

On June 30, he wrote that "this is where the final line of sand replenishment is - they will not pile any further!"

Users asked him when the work on the popular beaches would be completed.

"We will be in Vityazevo next week. Andrey, I am not very familiar with the names of the beaches, but we will be staying in the area of Paraliya. Has the sand been replenished there?" asked Olga.

"Yes, they are already finishing up, so come without hesitation!" replied the blogger.

"We are staying at the Slava Recreation Center, which is opposite the Resort Village, and trucks with sand are driving day and night along the pedestrian road leading to the LOK Vityaz beach, and it’s a nightmare.. LOK Vityaz seems to have been replenished, they are leveling it now, and they are still replenishing Venus.. the other day we approached the driver of one of the trucks and asked how much longer they would be driving, and we were told that they should finish by July 10," noted Natalia Suvorova in the comments.

"In general, according to the contract, they have some deadline in July 20, but they might finish earlier," commented the blog author.

The resort season in Anapa opened against a sharp contrast in the state of the coastline. Some beaches are open and recognized as safe, while other areas are closed due to erosion, unstable soil, and environmental risks. Information about which beaches are ready for visitors and which pose dangers is provided in the reference "Caucasian Knot" "Beaches of Anapa: open and dangerous zones".

On December 5, 2024, two tankers with fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. As a result, one crew member of one of the tankers died. In addition, there was an oil spill, which led to catastrophic environmental consequences, according to the reference "Caucasian Knot" "Oil spill in the Kerch Strait".

Materials on the consequences of the oil spill have been collected by the "Caucasian Knot" on the page "Ecological disaster in Kuban".
