Two teenagers are suspected of preparing a terrorist act in Stavropol.

An attempted terrorist act, the arson of a base station in the village of Niny on the instructions of curators, became the basis for the detention and arrest of two teenagers in Stavropol, one of whom is also suspected of attempting to set fire to a post office and a gas distribution point.

A case of attempted terrorism has been initiated against two minors from Stavropol, reports the press service of the regional Investigative Committee.

"In April 2026, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old teenager agreed to a proposal they received in the Telegram messenger to commit a terrorist act for monetary reward. Acting on the instructions of a Ukrainian curator, they purchased fuel and lubricants and made a homemade incendiary device, with which they attempted to set fire to a cellular base station in the village of Niny in the Soviet urban district," the message states.

Also, as the investigation claims, in February, a 15-year-old boy attempted to set fire to a post office and a gas regulator point in the same village on the curator's instructions. They were unable to complete the crimes due to circumstances beyond their control - the fire did not spread to the objects, not disrupting their operation, the management noted.

The case is being investigated under part 3 of article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted terrorist act). The suspects have been taken into custody.
