Blogger Markaryan was fined for comparing Russians to animals.
The Khoroshevsky Court of Moscow found convicted blogger and misogynist Arsen Markaryan guilty of inciting interethnic hatred and fined him 20,000 rubles.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in mid-June, the appellate court refused to mitigate the punishment of blogger Arsen Markaryan, who was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for rehabilitating Nazism.
In August 2025, blogger of Armenian descent Arsen Markaryan was detained in Moscow and then arrested on charges of insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland (part 4 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for up to five years of imprisonment). According to the investigation, Markaryan published a video on a video hosting site containing information insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland. Markaryan himself refused to admit guilt and stated that he did not publish this video. The blogger asked the court to consider his case in a special manner due to his agreement with the charges. The court found Markaryan guilty of rehabilitating Nazism and sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months in prison, and he is also prohibited from engaging in activities related to website administration for 4 years.
In Moscow, the court imposed an administrative penalty on blogger Arsen Markaryan. Relevant information appeared on the portal of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction.
It is specified that this concerns the article on inciting hatred or enmity. The reason for the punishment was Markaryan's statements, clips of which appeared on social media shortly before his arrest. He claimed that Russians are animals and pointed out their "underdevelopment".
According to the lawyer, these statements were made in 2022, but the prosecutor's office only became interested in them three years later. The Khoroshevsky Court of Moscow issued two fines to the blogger totaling 20,000 rubles under the article on inciting interethnic hatred , the Telegram channel "Caution, News" specifies.
Markaryan is a 31-year-old blogger and infobusinessman from Samara, the developer of his course "Base". He claims to help men become stronger, more confident, and energetic. He is known for negative statements about women (but at the same time, his "Base" has a course for them). In particular, in one of his speeches (the video was posted on the Telegram channel Tigman on July 14, 2024), he called rapes "a useful experience".
"In general, it is a useful experience - to be raped, to understand how human psychology works," the blogger stated in the video. Also, in July 2024, a video appeared on social media in which Markaryan talks about sexual relations with girls aged 12 and 13. A recording from one of the blogger's online courses, where he talks about relationships with minors, was published by a user X under the nickname @yolkzheltok. According to her, this excerpt was sent to her. The blogger also criticized the authorities of Russia and the military operation.
