The family of flood victims in Ingushetia was denied temporary housing.

Officials in Ingushetia refused to provide temporary housing for the Ozdoyev family from the village of Sredniye Achaluki, whose house was damaged as a result of flooding in May.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", at the end of May, due to flooding, 75 residents of the Troitskoye rural settlement in the Sunzhensky district of Ingushetia were evacuated, including 30 children. More than 40 houses were flooded in Troitskoye and Karabulak.

In the North Caucasus, floods caused by heavy rains began at the end of March and have become some of the most destructive in recent years. The greatest damage was inflicted on Dagestan and Chechnya, according to a report from "Caucasian Knot" "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus-2026".

The large Ozdoyev family of seven has been living with relatives for a month. During the flooding at the end of May, soil erosion occurred, and now it is dangerous for them to live in their house, reported the TV channel "Magas-24" in its video report.

"My older brother lives here, and for a month his family has not been able to return home. Emergency Ministry employees came and said it was dangerous to live here, and they evacuated them," said Ozdoyev's younger brother Artur Ozdoyev.

Representatives of the local government of the Malgobek district, the head of the rural administration, and Emergency Ministry specialists visited the site. They drew up reports, recorded the damages, but no further measures have been taken since then.

"A commission should come here and find out why a landslide zone was formed, and then it should decide. From the administration's side, everything has been done; we sent letters and statements from the affected residents. The residents also sent their statements," said the head of the Sredniye Achaluki village administration Isa Esmurziev.

During evacuation due to a natural disaster, people should be provided with temporary housing; however, the administration reports a lack of maneuverable funds, and higher authorities, including the republic's government, do not pay attention to the Ozdoyev family's problems. Their only hope remains with the regional Emergency Ministry's decision.

"There is an organization I have already contacted that is ready to come out and document the landslide. Next week, I will definitely call the representatives of this organization and invite them here so they can provide a specific conclusion. If they say there is no danger, then the village administration can level this area, and people can return to their home. If specialists do not provide such guarantees, we will not settle people back in the house because it is dangerous," said the deputy minister for civil defense and emergencies of Ingushetia Umalat Misraulov.

According to the TV channel, this situation puts the Ozdoyev family in a deadlock. If the house is deemed dangerous, they will be prohibited from living there. In the Malgobek district, a state of emergency has not been declared, so the government is not obliged to assist local residents. "We do not know how much longer we will have to stay with relatives. If we were specifically told what measures we could expect, we would have already taken our actions, as there is a large family living here," said a family representative.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the family of Ingushetia resident Khadijat Dzakhkieva, who was only awarded the title of "Mother-Heroine" on the third attempt, reported the absence of payments and assistance with housing. Lawyers interviewed by "Caucasian Knot" noted that federal regulations provide for payments and benefits but do not obligate authorities to provide housing for such families.
