The court in Nalchik has returned the case of discrediting the army to the security forces three times.
The Nalchik City Court returned the case of discrediting the army against local resident Sosruko Kantsaliyev to the police for the third time, as the protocol was drawn up without his participation. Kantsaliyev himself is presumably in the area of the special military operation.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", responsibility for discrediting the armed forces was introduced on March 4, 2022, since then residents of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have been prosecuted under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It provides for fines for citizens ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 rubles, and repeated violations within a year threaten criminal prosecution.
According to the case materials, security forces in Nalchik initiated a case of discrediting the army against local resident Sosruko Kantsaliyev and sent it to court.
The court in Nalchik returned the case to the police twice due to incomplete description of the circumstances of the offense. An Interior Ministry employee explained in court that the security forces could not determine the whereabouts of Sosruko Kantsaliyev. He does not reside at his registered address, and he could not be found at the established place of residence, as stated in the case card published on the website of the Nalchik City Court.
"He is likely in the area of the special military operation," the case materials state.
As a result, the court returned the case against Sosruko Kantsaliyev to the security forces for the third time, explaining that the protocol should have been drawn up with his participation, and that Kantsaliyev himself or his representative should be given the opportunity to review the protocol.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on June 29, it became known that the court in the Prokhladnensky district of Kabardino-Balkaria fined local resident Islam Abazov, finding him guilty of discrediting the army.
