The former Minister of Health of Kuban received a sentence for fraud.
The court sentenced former Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory, Evgeny Filippov, to four years in a penal colony for a case of large-scale fraud.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the property and business of the head of the Ministry of Health of Kuban, Evgeny Filippov, his relatives, and trusted persons have been transferred to the state by court decision.
According to the investigation, Filippov embezzled more than seven million rubles of budget funds from November 2015 to December 2025. The attention of law enforcement to Filippov, who has headed the Ministry of Health of Kuban since 2013, was attracted by the property status of his family: numerous real estate properties are registered in the name of the official and his relatives.
The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar sentenced former Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory, Evgeny Filippov, to four years in a penal colony for a case of large-scale fraud.
"I sentence to recognize Filippov Evgeny Fedorovich guilty. I impose a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 4 years with a fine of 500 thousand rubles," - quotes Interfax the words of the judge.
Filippov was convicted under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale fraud). Filippov is to serve his sentence in a general regime correctional colony. The sentence may be appealed, TASS clarifies.
It should be noted that former Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory, Evgeny Filippov, was arrested on March 18 on charges of large-scale fraud. The case materials indicate that Filippov, while serving as Minister of Health of the region, fictitiously held the position of head of the Department of Advanced Training of Specialists at the Kuban State Medical University from November 2015 to December 2025 and embezzled more than 7.5 million rubles allocated from the budget of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, which he disposed of at his discretion.
Filippov headed the Ministry of Health of the Krasnodar Territory since July 2013, RBC clarifies.
Recall that the bailiffs seized the family's assets, including 21 apartments, two private houses, 14 non-residential premises, nine land plots, seven apartments, four garages, and three parking spaces.
