The number of people hospitalized after poisoning in Astrakhan has risen to 23.

Nine more people have been hospitalized in Astrakhan after being poisoned by food from a local grocery store.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" on June 27, one person died in Astrakhan due to food poisoning, and another 14 people were hospitalized with an intestinal infection.

As of June 28, the number of people hospitalized in Astrakhan after food poisoning from a grocery store has increased to 23. All victims are in moderate condition, TASS reported today, citing law enforcement agencies.

Six children are among the 23 hospitalized with suspected salmonellosis, RIA Novosti reported today, citing law enforcement agencies.

As a reminder, according to sources, all the victims purchased ready-made lunches and dinners at the Mikhailovsky grocery store. After eating, they experienced nausea and abdominal pain. The grocery store owner said his employees were questioned by Investigative Committee officers.
