A Nalchik resident was fined for discrediting the army.

A court in Nalchik fined Marina Ermakova, finding her guilty of discrediting the army.

According to case materials, security forces in Nalchik drew up a report on discrediting the army against local resident Marina Ermakova and submitted the case materials to the court.

The Nalchik City Court found Ermakova guilty of discrediting the army and fined her, according to the case file published on the court's website.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a court in Nalchik had previously fined Kirill Kotlyarov 30,000 rubles, deeming his comments on Telegram discrediting the army.

As a reminder, liability for discrediting the armed forces was introduced on 4 Since March 2022, residents of Russia, including those in the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts, have been subject to prosecution under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It provides for a fine of 30,000 to 100,000 rubles, and repeat violations within a year are punishable by criminal prosecution.
