In the village of Maidanskoye, power engineers discovered an illegal mining farm with 26 cryptocurrency mining devices.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on June 7, an illegal mining farm with 90 devices was discovered in the village of Maidanskoye, Untsukulsky District. On June 13, a mining farm with 111 devices was discovered in another village in the district – the village of Untsukul.
Another mining farm was discovered in the village of Maidanskoye in the Untsukul district. During an inspection at one of the energy facilities, specialists from Dagenergo discovered 26 specialized devices for cryptocurrency mining, RIA Dagestan reported on June 27.
According to Mukhtarakhmed Murtazaev, head of the Gumbetovsky district power grid, the total capacity of the equipment was 91 kW, and all equipment was connected to the power grid without a contract.
As a reminder, in November 2025, Dagestani power engineers reported that they had uncovered 73 cases of electricity theft by mining farm owners since the beginning of the year, causing total damage to amount to 85.7 million rubles.
In December 2024, the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov signed an appeal to the Russian government requesting a ban on cryptocurrency mining in the territory republics, taking into account the growing load on the power grid. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decree, from 2025 to March 15, 2031, a complete ban on mining has been introduced, including in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya.
