Security forces have arrested Artur Abrahamyan, one of the wanted candidates from the Strong Armenia bloc.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, in early June, on June 6, the Central Election Commission authorized the criminal prosecution of six Strong Armenia bloc candidates suspected of money laundering and voter bribery. On June 9, two parliamentary candidates from Samvel Karapetyan's party, Vahe Yeghiazaryan and Susan Badoyan, were taken into custody. Hayk Avagyan, Artur Abrahamyan, and two other candidates were placed on the wanted list.

Artur Abrahamyan, one of the parliamentary candidates from the Strong Armenia bloc, was located and arrested, Armenpress reported on the evening of June 26, citing the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

According to the agency, he is accused of bribery of numerous individuals and money laundering on an especially large scale. Abrahamyan is one of four Strong Armenia candidates who have been arrested and placed on the wanted list. The Caucasian Knot also reported that in the run-up to the June 7 parliamentary elections, the authorities increased pressure on opposition supporters, including the Strong Armenia bloc. On June 4, the Investigative Committee reported the criminal prosecution of 37 individuals involved in the case of Alik Aleksanyan, who was previously arrested. Aleksanyan is suspected of money laundering and bribery of Armenian citizens in the political interests of businessman Samvel Karapetyan.

The parliamentary elections have effectively become a referendum on the future of the current government and Armenia's foreign policy, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "2026 Elections to the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia".
