A Sochi resident was given a suspended sentence for rehabilitating Nazism.

The Krasnodar Regional Court found 62-year-old Sochi resident Natalya Nikolaeva guilty of rehabilitating Nazism and sentenced her to a two-year suspended prison sentence for a comment on a social media site.

According to investigators and the court, in March 2025, while at home in Sochi, the woman posted a public comment on a social media site containing an open justification of Nazism and approval of the Holocaust. One of the group's members then took a screenshot of the message and sent it to the police.

The court found Natalia Nikolaeva guilty of rehabilitating Nazism and sentenced her to two years' suspended imprisonment with a two-year probationary period, the Investigative Committee for Krasnodar Krai reported on its Telegram channel.

The defendant admitted in court that she is ashamed of her actions because she is a Russian patriot, the press service of the Krasnodar Krai courts added on its Telegram channel.

Furthermore, the court sentenced the Sochi resident to two years' imprisonment banning her from engaging in activities related to posting materials online. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

According to the criminal case file on the court's website, Nikolaeva's case was received by the court on April 24, and Judge Smirnov delivered a guilty verdict on June 23.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Military Court in Rostov-on-Don found Kuban resident Artem Ekimov guilty of publicly justifying and promoting terrorism, inciting extremism online, and rehabilitating Nazism and sentenced him to five years in prison. In early April, a 30-year-old resident of Cherkessk, whose comments containing "anti-Russian statements" attracted the attention of operatives from the center for combating extremism, was arrested on similar charges.
