Three fighters from Dagestan were killed in a military operation.

Kamil Seyranov, Selim Khanmagomedov and Veli Shamkhalov were killed in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military operation, at least 2,009 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," as of June 22, government and security officials officially recognized at least 2,006 fighters from Dagestan as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

Neither awards, nor memorial plaques, nor appearances on Channel One guarantee the families of those killed state support, according to the "Caucasian Knot" article "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits," which describes the stories of the killed fighters.

Thus, at least 2,009 Dagestan servicemen have been officially recognized as killed in Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of soldiers killed in the military operation in Ukraine, whose names have been officially released by the authorities. The first official to announce the death of a Russian soldier in Ukraine was Sergei Melikov, who led Dagestan in February 2022, reporting the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov.

The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "NVO Statistics: Losses Are Growing in Southern Russia".
