A fighter from Ingushetia was killed in the SVO zone.
Ismail Kartoev was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, at least 197 combatants from Ingushetia have been officially recognized as killed in it.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by June 16, at least 196 fighters from Ingushetia had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.
A school desk named after Ismail Kartoyev, who was killed in the military operation zone, was unveiled at a school in Malgobek, the Ingushetia branch of the Fatherland Defenders Foundation reported on its Telegram channel.
Ismail Kartoyev was born in Karabulak and raised in Malgobek. He graduated from School No. 18, then from a vocational school and the Gorsky Agricultural Institute. He served in the Moscow Army Sports Club. In November 2024, he volunteered for the SVO. The assistant grenade launcher operator in a guards unit was killed on December 21, 2024.
It is noted that his burial was possible after three months of searching. Kartoyev is survived by four children.
Thus, at least 197 fighters from Ingushetia have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.
"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and the Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Northern Military District Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia."
