The court seized almost 165 million rubles from former Volgograd Regional Duma deputy Stanislav Korotkov for state benefit.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in March, the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit seeking 43.9 million rubles from former regional Duma deputy Stanislav Korotkov. In April, the court refused to transfer the case to Moscow.

The Kirovsky District Court of Volgograd upheld the prosecutor's office's claim to confiscate the property of former Volgograd Regional Duma deputy Stanislav Korotkov for state use, Interfax reported on June 19, citing the joint press service of the region's courts.

According to the press service, 164.8 million rubles of Korotkov's funds, the legality of which he could not prove, were seized for state use.

The court concluded that Korotkov, while a regional Duma deputy, managed the activities of three companies, but in his declaration he only reported dividends received from their activities, thus violating the ban on entrepreneurial activity.

It should be noted that the original claim The Volgograd Region Prosecutor's Office's demand was for 43.9 million rubles, but in May, the Kirovsky District Court of Volgograd upheld the prosecutor's request to increase the claim to 164.8 million rubles, v1.ru reports.
