Two residents of Dagestan are suspected of involvement in a terrorist organization.
Two residents of Dagestan participated in the activities of an international terrorist organization, and one of them recruited a minor, according to investigators.
The criminal prosecution of two residents of Dagestan was based on materials from the republic's FSB department. Both are accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, and one of the defendants is also suspected of assisting terrorist activity by recruiting a minor (Part 2 of Article 205.5 and Part 2 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code carry prison sentences of 10 to 20 years).
According to investigators, one of the suspects, from November 2025 to April 2026, while in Derbent, propagated terrorist ideas "aimed at expanding and resuming the activities of a banned organization." The second suspect, via a messenger, convinced a minor he knew to join the same terrorist organization. The teenager eventually agreed and "committed actions indicating participation in its activities," the Dagestan Investigative Committee reported on its Telegram channel.
The investigation's statement does not specify which terrorist organization is being referred to. The agency also did not disclose the suspects' ages and occupations, nor did it specify the preventive measures they have been given. However, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that they will be charged with other criminal offenses that have not yet been identified.
