A resident of Ingushetia is suspected of aiding a terrorist group.

Investigators in Ingushetia have opened a criminal case against a 54-year-old local resident suspected of aiding a terrorist organization.

According to investigators, in January 2025, the local resident, who was a follower of a group banned in Russia and operating in Ingushetia, assisted individuals wanted for terrorist crimes.

He was previously detained on suspicion of committing other crimes and was remanded in custody, the Investigative Committee of Ingushetia reported today on its Telegram channel.

The criminal case was opened based on materials from the regional FSB under Part 1 of Article 205.4, which carries a sentence of fifteen to twenty years in prison.

The agency did not name the suspect or specify which community he belonged to.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in mid-May, the case of a resident of the village of Sagopshi, accused of participating in the activities of an illegal armed group, which is a cell of an international terrorist organization, was sent to court. Previously, three residents of Ingushetia were sentenced to long prison terms after the court deemed them accomplices of members of an illegal armed group killed during the counter-terrorist operation in Karabulak.
