According to the "Caucasian Knot," as of May 29, at least 897 soldiers from the Rostov Region were officially recognized as killed in the North Caucasus Military District (NVO) zone.
Corporal Viktor Yakovlev was killed in the zone of a special military operation, the administration of the city of Gukovo in the Rostov Region reported on its VKontakte page on June 8.
Thus, at least 898 soldiers from the Rostov Region have been officially recognized as killed in the NVO zone. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. In April, authorities in the Chertkovsky District also reported that Egor Kovalenko had been killed in the NVO zone.
State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits", which describes the stories of fighters from other regions.
