As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," after 98% of the ballots in the Armenian parliamentary elections were counted, the ruling Civil Contract party received 49.82% of the vote.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia has completed the vote count at all 2,005 polling stations. The ruling Civil Contract party took the lead, receiving 49.81% (or 727,160) of the votes. The "Strong Armenia" alliance of parties came in second with 23.29% (340,062 votes). The Armenia Alliance of Parties took third place with 9.94% (145,097 votes), News.am reported today, citing the Central Election Commission's press service.

The Prosperous Armenia Party took fourth place, garnering 4% (58,368 votes). The Wings of Unity Party took fifth place, garnering 2.3% (33,618 votes).

As a reminder, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan previously announced that the Civil Contract party had won the parliamentary elections and would single-handedly form the government. He announced criminal liability for opposition leaders, rapprochement with the EU, and the development of relations with the Eurasian Economic Union.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that the election campaign in Armenia is taking place in a tense atmosphere. The opposition previously complained that members of the Civil Contract party are committing widespread violations at polling stations, while the Central Election Commission and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia are demonstrating inaction. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a total of 18 people were detained for election violations.
