An illegal mining farm with 90 devices was discovered in Dagestan "Cryptocurrency mining devices," Magomedshapi Shapiev, acting director of Dagenergo, reported on his Telegram channel on June 7. According to him, the illegal farm was discovered in the village of Maidanskoye in the Untsukulsky District. Initially, inspectors failed to detect any mining devices, but the building turned out to have a specially constructed false floor, under which the devices were concealed. Their total capacity was 315 kW, and they were connected to the power grid without a contract with the power supply company. All equipment was seized. In December 2024, the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, signed an appeal to the Russian government requesting a ban on cryptocurrency mining in the republic, given the growing load on the power grid. According to a Cabinet of Ministers decree, from 2025 to March 15, 2031, a complete ban on mining has been introduced, including in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya.
