Almost half of the amount raised to support Zarema Musaeva has been raised.
More than 149,000 rubles have been collected in three weeks for parcels for Zarema Musayeva in the penal colony. This money is enough for three months. The collection is ongoing; 300,000 rubles are needed to pay for the parcels for six months.
As "Caucasian Knot" reported, more than 79,000 rubles have been collected in five days for parcels for Zarema Musayeva. On May 12, human rights activists announced a fundraiser for political prisoner Zarema Musayeva, who needs medication and special diabetic nutrition. The total collection amount is 300,000 rubles, which will provide the political prisoner with everything she needs for six months.
In August 2025, the Shali Court of Chechnya sentenced Zarema Musayeva to three years and 11 months in prison for disrupting the work of a penal colony. On February 16, the Supreme Court of Chechnya overturned Musayeva's sentence and, at the prosecutor's request, sent the case for a new trial. Following the retrial of the criminal case for disrupting the work of a correctional facility, the court sentenced Zarema Musayeva to three years and 10 months in a penal colony. Musayeva appealed the verdict. The court unconditionally accepted the prosecution's side, and Zarema Musayeva's right to a defense was violated during the two-day trial, the defense stated.
Almost half of the funds for food parcels for political prisoner Zarema Musayeva have been collected, the Team Against Torture* reported.
"The collected funds will be enough to provide the prison colony with food products recommended by the doctor for maintaining a diet, as well as diabetic supplies and hygiene products for three months," the statement said.
According to human rights activists, 500 rubles in each parcel go toward bottled water and juices, 1,000 rubles for fresh vegetables, fruits, dried fruits, sugar substitutes, and sweets for diabetics. 2,000 rubles go toward hygiene products and household chemicals, including sterilization products for the insulin injections Zarema takes daily. Another 3,000 rubles are needed for milk, meat, and fish.
"A balanced diet is critical for Zarema's diagnosis, which requires a strict diet. Failure to adhere to it can lead to a deterioration in quality of life, including increased fatigue, blurred vision, and damage to the blood vessels and nervous system," human rights activists emphasized.
Because of her insulin-dependent diabetes, she must strictly follow her doctor's recommendations, monitor her blood sugar levels, and eliminate unhealthy foods from her diet. It's difficult to maintain a proper diet in a prison colony, the report states.
As of 1:35 p.m. Moscow time, 149,751 rubles have been collected for food parcels for Zarema Musayeva, according to data posted on the "Zaodno" platform.
The total amount raised is 300,000 rubles, enough for six months of support for Musayeva.
In March 2025, human rights activists raised the same amount for a year's supply of medications, rehabilitation equipment, and consumables needed by Musayeva. Two-thirds of the required amount was raised in two weeks. "Thank you for your support, you are saving me," Zarema Musayeva wrote after the medication donation.
In early April, human rights activists sent a complaint from Chechen political prisoner Zarema Musayeva to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. In it, she stated that she is being punished for the actions of her sons, who criticize the Chechen leadership, and that the court hearings in her case are being conducted with violations.
Zarema Musayeva is the wife of former federal judge Saidi Yangulbaev. Chechen security forces took her away from her apartment in Nizhny Novgorod on January 20, 2022. After this, Ramzan Kadyrov accused the Yangulbayev family of organizing a terrorist network and stated that their place awaited them "in prison or underground."
