A new group of fighters was sent from Grozny to the SVO zone.

Another group of fighters trained at the Russian Special Forces University departed from Grozny airport for the military operation zone.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, Chechen authorities regularly report sending groups of troops from the republic to the fighting in Ukraine. Ramzan Kadyrov published the latest such report on May 17. 70,520 fighters have been sent from Chechnya to participate in the fighting in Ukraine, 24,500 of whom are volunteers. 14,000 fighters are in the fighting zone, the head of the republic's government, Magomed Daudov, announced on March 25. Regular reports from Chechen authorities about sending groups of fighters to the military operation zone raise doubts that all of them are going to participate in the fighting voluntarily, social media users noted.

The data on the total number of security forces sent from Chechnya does not include those who are retired, confined to barracks, on leave, or who have left the combat zone as part of rotation. Moreover, since November 2022, Kadyrov has accompanied each report about sending another group with a call to contact the Grozny mayor's office to sign up as volunteers, and regularly emphasizes that the flow of volunteers is not decreasing and there are no problems recruiting them. He also regularly reports that there are many residents of other regions of Russia among the volunteers.

A group of fighters has been sent from Grozny airport to the special military operations zone, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced today on his Telegram channel.

According to him, they have all completed training at the Russian Special Forces University.

As follows from the video, In the attached publication, Magomed Daudov, Chairman of the Chechen Government and Chief of the Regional Operational Headquarters of the Special Military District, delivered a farewell speech. He emphasized that the fighters "are sent to the Special Military District zone several times." The fighters held at least two Russian flags, two Soviet flags, and two flags with portraits of Akhmat Kadyrov.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," those detained for minor offenses in Chechnya are being forced to sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense. Relatives prefer to remain silent about this in order to use connections or ransom money to bring the young men home, human rights activists reported.

In the first ten days of May, security forces carried out mass arrests of residents of several Chechen villages, and many of those detained were forced to sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense, activists reported. The human rights activist attributed the raids and detentions to a shortage of volunteer contract soldiers.

Analysts familiar with the situation in Chechnya have repeatedly called forced contracting typical for the republic. Thus, in November 2024, information emerged that security forces in Chechnya were conducting house-to-house visits and detaining men, offering them a choice between being sent to the front or facing criminal prosecution for visiting Telegram channels critical of the Chechen authorities. Caucasian Knot also reported that at the end of January, Kadyrov spoke out against negotiations with Ukraine, declaring that he believed it was right to continue the special military operation "until the end." On February 5, he reported that 20 Chechen natives had been returned from Ukrainian captivity, and journalists discovered a convicted child sexual abuser and a former official among the released Akhmatovites.

The Russian Special Forces University is a training center in Gudermes, organized by Ramzan Kadyrov, where volunteers are trained for deployment to war zones and where the Akhmat special forces are based. The "Caucasian Knot" prepared a report "What is taught at Putin's Special Forces University in Chechnya".

It should also be noted that the 18-year-old son of the head of Chechnya Adam Kadyrov was awarded the medal "For Contribution to the Conduct of the Special Military Operations" on May 31. This award "is a well-deserved recognition of Adam Ramzanovich's contribution to ensuring security and supporting the SVO," Dudayev said, noting that the son of the head of Chechnya holds the position of curator of the Russian Special Forces University, where volunteers and fighters undergo training before being sent to the SVO zone.
