A Grozny family reported pressure from security forces over their apartment.

Security officials detained several people throughout the day, demanding that they provide documents for their apartment in Grozny. After they were given photographs of the documents, they took the keys under threat. A woman claiming to be an assistant to State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov is attempting to seize the apartment. Four complaints to the Investigative Committee have gone unanswered.

A family from Grozny claimed that someone is trying to take away their two-room apartment.

Two sisters, Zaira and Malika Magomadova, own a two-room apartment in Grozny. They inherited the apartment after their mother's death. The older sister, Zaira, lives outside of Russia. The younger sister, Malika, is in Chechnya. Over the past few years, according to relatives, her addiction has led her to incur large debts, which her family then has to pay off, writes the project "Freedom (Not) Around the Corner."

"We've repeatedly paid off her debts. I personally once paid 600,000 rubles for her. After that, she said she wouldn't do it again. But she didn't stop. Later, Malika fraudulently took out a loan in the name of her maternal aunts. They are still paying it off," said Zaura's husband, Ruslan Idigov.

Then Malika met Larisa Bakaeva, who learned about the apartment registered to the sisters and began pushing for its sale, Idigov claims. At first, she pressured Malika, and then began calling him and his wife. Bakaeva demanded that he hand over the documents for the apartment or agree to sell the property. Zaira refused to sell the apartment.

"My wife tells her she won't sell it: it's all that's left from her parents," Idigov said.

Analysts have confirmed the continuation of the campaign to Coercion to Sign Contracts in Chechnya
Those detained for minor offenses in Chechnya are being coerced into signing contracts with the Ministry of Defense. Relatives prefer to remain silent about this in order to try to leverage connections or use ransom to bring the young men home, human rights activists said.

According to him, Bakayeva posed as an assistant to State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov. She threatened to "create problems" for the family and said that their relatives could be sent to the SVO zone, the publication states.

Security forces have joined in the pressure

On May 10, several relatives of Zaira and Rasul were taken to a security agency station. Among them were the sisters' maternal aunt, paternal aunt, and Rasul's brothers. One of them suffers from asthma and cannot go without an inhaler for long periods. The sisters' paternal aunt is barely mobile, has serious health problems, and requires constant care. The relatives were detained until 2:00 a.m. During this time, security officials called Rasul and Zaira and demanded they send apartment documents, Idigov claims.

The relatives were released only after Rasul sent photographs of the apartment documents.

A few days later, security officials came to the apartment where the Magomadovs' elderly aunt lives and, under threat, took her keys. According to Idigov, he called a security official but also faced threats. "We'll make sure you're in jail," the official said.

Idigov claims that Bakayeva personally visited his relatives and demanded money from them. The family refused to pay. Idigov explains this by saying that further demands could follow the initial payment.

According to him, Malika, his wife's younger sister, claimed to be acting under pressure. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Relatives previously tried to take her away from Bakayeva, but she refused to return the girl's passport. Rasul suspects that Bakayeva is influencing Malika through threats, dependency, and references to her connections. Idigov has already contacted the Investigative Committee several times. He submitted three statements electronically, another in writing through a lawyer, and is preparing a fifth.

The keys to the family's apartment have not been returned, and statements to the Investigative Committee remain unanswered, the publication states.

Delimkhanov stated that Bakayeva does not work for him.

"Information is being circulated online that Larisa Bakayeva is posing as our assistant. I state unequivocally: this woman is not my assistant," State Duma Deputy Adam Delimkhanov was quoted as saying by the Grozny State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

According to him, the topic is being escalated by "enemies—solely for the sake of cheap hype and destabilization." "Regarding this story, we will conduct a thorough investigation and sort everything out," Delimkhanov stated.

Allegations of possible property disputes and third-party actions are currently under investigation and have not been confirmed by official bodies, the publication notes.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that property seizures are being used as a means of exerting pressure, including on the families of critics of the Chechen authorities. For example, in the fall of 2025, messages appeared on classifieds platforms about the sale of a house in Grozny previously owned by activist Zelimkhan Mustafinov. The property was seized by security forces, and the family faced pressure.
