Two people were taken to hospital after a missile attack in Taganrog.

A missile was destroyed in Taganrog this morning, and two victims required medical attention. Several cars caught fire as a result of the missile's debris falling.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on the night of May 23, drones were destroyed in the Matveyevo-Kurgansky and Tarasovsky districts of the Rostov Region, Governor Yuri Slyusar reported. According to him, there were no injuries.

"Unfortunately, there were consequences on the ground. As a result of the missile's debris falling, cars caught fire on Tsiolkovsky Street. Information about the casualties is being clarified," he wrote.

According to the Yandex Maps service, Tsiolkovsky Street, near which the missile was destroyed, is located in the North-West district of the city and runs through the Voyenny Gorodok microdistrict. Nearby are garage cooperatives, the Nikolaevskoye Cemetery, and numerous gardening communities surrounding a vast area not marked on the map.

There were casualties as a result of the missile attack, Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova reported on her Telegram channel. "Two people were taken to the hospital and are receiving the necessary medical care. A car fire occurred. The fire has been contained," the mayor wrote.

The official assured that "a commission will begin examining the damage soon." "The missile threat has been removed. There are no road closures in the city. Traffic is operating normally," the publication stated.

Car damage has repeatedly appeared in reports on the consequences of drone attacks in the Rostov Region, but compensation for it was not provided until December 2025. Only after a Taganrog resident who lost his car asked about payments during a direct line with the governor did the authorities establish a compensation procedure for car owners. The resolution provides for payments of up to 500,000 rubles for a damaged car and up to a million for a destroyed one.

Nearby aircraft factory creates problems for Taganrog residents

In the Rostov Region, there is a ban on filming aerial attacks and their aftermath, air defense operations, and military unit locations. The "Caucasian Knot" published the corresponding governor's decree.
