Detectives from the North Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered public statements insulting the official state symbol of the Russian Federation on a messaging app.
An unknown individual posted a comment containing derogatory and cynical assessments of the state emblem, the press service of the North Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported today on its website.
During the search, police identified the author of the post as a 26-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz.
According to experts, the comment contained colloquial language with a clearly negative connotation. Based on the materials collected by the investigators, an administrative violation report was filed against the offender. He was accused of blatant disrespect for the official state symbols of the Russian Federation. .
"All evidence was submitted to the courts for review. The court found the man guilty of committing the offense under the aforementioned article and sentenced him to an administrative fine of 90,000 rubles," the agency said in a statement.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the 40-year-old Vladikavkaz resident was suspected of desecrating the Russian flag.
