In Dagestan, two sections of roads are closed due to landslides and rockfalls, leaving the villages of Ursun and Khpyuk without transport links.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on May 18, "Dagestanavtodor" reported that there were no more blocked settlements in the republic, however, due to spring floods, there is a risk of collapse of a section of the Tsurib-Archib highway in the Charodinsky district.
According to the State Public Institution "Dagestanavtodor", on May 24, without Two villages remain blocked in Dagestan – Ursun and Khpyuk in the Kurakhsky District – and two sections of roads are closed, RIA Dagestan reports.
In several mountainous regions of the republic, road restrictions remain due to landslides and rockfalls. Bypass routes have been established on 17 sections of road, and emergency repair work is underway in all directions.
In late March and early April, dozens of road sections in Dagestan were closed after floods, landslides, and, in mountainous areas, after avalanches and snowstorms. The floods that occurred in the North Caucasus this spring were among the most devastating in recent years. Six people, including three minors, died as a result of the flooding in Dagestan. Dagestan and Chechnya suffered the most from the natural disaster, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus - 2026".
