The search for two people missing in an avalanche in Chechnya has been completed.

One person died, the second was hospitalized, his life is not in danger.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", in the Itum-Kalinsky district of Chechnya search is underway for two people who went missing during an avalanche. They were clearing a road.

Two people missing as a result of an avalanche in the border zone have been found in the Itum-Kalinsky district, reported the head of the district, Albert Rabuyev.

"Over the past two days, large-scale search and rescue operations have been conducted in the area of ​​the avalanche in the border zone of the Itum-Kalinsky municipal district—in the Terloy rural settlement, the village of Malkhista, and the hamlet of Terti. The missing people have been located. Unfortunately, one of them could not be saved, but the other has already been taken to the hospital. "His life is safe, and the threat to his health has been eliminated," he reported on his Telegram channel.

The video attached to the post shows rescuers lifting the surviving man and supporting him. The body of the second man is then shown being carried away on a stretcher.

Previously, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in late March and early April, dozens of road sections in Dagestan were closed after floods, landslides, and, in mountainous areas, after avalanches and snowstorms. The floods that occurred in the North Caucasus this spring were among the most devastating in recent years.
