A soldier from the Astrakhan region was killed in the SVO zone.

Eduard Iskaliyev from the Kamyzyak district was killed in combat in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, at least 740 servicemen from the Astrakhan region have been recognized as killed in the operation.

According to the "Caucasian Knot," by May 11, at least 739 soldiers from the Astrakhan region were officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

A memorial service for Eduard Iskaliyev, killed in combat in Ukraine, was held in the village of Semibugry, the Kamyzyak district administration reported on its VKontakte page.

Iskaliyev was born on December 29, 1979, in the village of Semibugry and graduated from the local school there. During his military service, he signed a contract and took part in combat operations in Chechnya. On January 27, 2023, he was called up for military service as part of the partial mobilization. On September 20, 2025, he was killed in action near the village of Vladimirovka in the Volnovakha District.

Thus, at least 740 combatants from the Astrakhan Region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front.

The death of a SVO participant from the Kamyzyak District was previously reported on March 18. Then the authorities reported that Alexei Yakovlev had been killed in the military operation.
