A fighter from the Volgograd region was killed in Ukraine.

Mikhail Azarenko from Kotelnikovo was killed in combat in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military operation, at least 1,784 soldiers from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in it.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by May 16, at least 1,783 soldiers from the Volgograd region had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

Mikhail Azarenko from Kotelnikovo was killed in the military operation, the Volgograd publication "City News," founded by the municipal institution "IAV," reported on May 18. The publication does not provide details about the deceased's biography.

Thus, at least 1,784 soldiers from the Volgograd Region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The death of a SVO member from the Kotelnikovsky District was previously reported in August 2025. Then the authorities reported that 58-year-old Oleg Kuvshinov, a former teacher and head of the Pimeno-Chernyaevskoye rural settlement, was killed in the fighting.
