In the Rostov region, police detained a 42-year-old Moscow resident who was attempting to illegally cross the border into Ukraine to join a terrorist group there.
According to sources, the man contacted members of the Sheikh Mansour Battalion (an organization designated as terrorist and banned in Russia) and received instructions on how to illegally cross the border.
In March, he left his home and walked to the Rostov region along the M-4 Don highway, 1rnd.ru reported on May 16.
Police detained the man in the city Millerovo. A criminal case has been opened for attempted membership in a terrorist organization, reports Bloknot-Rostov.
