A fighter from the Volgograd region was killed in a military operation.

On May 14, polling station No. 1906 in the Kamyshinsky district was named after Dmitry Zalevsky, who was killed in the military operation, the district administration reported on its Telegram channel on May 15.

"The deputy chairman of this precinct election commission died while performing combat missions during a special military operation," the publication stated.

Zalevsky served as deputy chairman of the precinct election commission from June 2020 to January 2024 He served in the combat zone with the rank of corporal, authorities reported.

Thus, at least 1,779 soldiers from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The death of soldiers from the Kamyshinsky district was previously reported on April 16. At that time, authorities reported that Alexander Momot and Aleksandr Taygunov were killed in the military operation.
