The names of two Dagestani soldiers killed in Ukraine have been released.
Gasulbeg Sharamazanov and Nurmagomed Abakarov from the Botlikh District were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially acknowledged at least 1,934 combatants from Dagestan killed there.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by May 14, officials and security forces acknowledged at least 1,932 servicemen from Dagestan killed in combat in Ukraine.
The names of two more Dagestan soldiers killed in Ukraine were announced on May 14 by the Botlikh District administration, which reported the installation of memorial plaques in the Memory Square in Botlikh.
The dead were Gasulbeg Sharamazanov from the village of Andi and Nurmagomed Abakarov from the village of Tando, according to a post on the municipality's official Telegram channel.
According to the information on the plaques, both soldiers were killed in 2026 and posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. Gasulbeg Sharamazanov was born in 1969, and Nurmagomed Abakarov in 2002.
Thus, at least 1,934 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in Ukraine. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "NVO Statistics: Losses Are Growing for Southern Russia."
At the end of April, the Botlikh District administration reported the installation of a memorial plaque in the park with the name of Sagidadam Kurbanov. In February, the names of five more natives of the Botlikh District killed in Ukraine became known.
