A Dagestani resident has been accused of justifying terrorism.

The Investigative Department of the FSB Directorate for Dagestan has opened a criminal case against a local resident. The case stems from audio recordings he posted on social media.

According to investigators, the suspect posted audio recordings on his VKontakte page containing calls for terrorism, justifications for it, and active propaganda. Since the materials were publicly available, anyone could view them.

"At the moment, FSB officers are conducting investigative actions to establish all the details of the crime and identify possible accomplices," the department said in a statement.

The investigation did not name the suspect, nor did the statement specify what kind of audio recordings were posted on social media.
