Contract soldier Aleksandr Medvedko, who served as a gunner-assistant to a grenade launcher, was killed in the military operation, the Uryupinsk administration reported on its Telegram channel on May 5.
"The soldier was 49 years old. He is survived by a daughter," the publication notes.
Thus, at least 1,772 soldiers from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.
