A Stavropol official is suspected of fraudulent landfill liquidation.
The head of the Housing and Utilities Department of the Neftekumsk District Administration has been placed under house arrest for abuse of power while fulfilling municipal contracts. Damages from his actions are estimated at over 14 million rubles.
According to investigators, in October and November 2024, the accused signed certificates of completion containing knowingly false information about the types and costs of services. The documents stated that the contractor had fulfilled two municipal contracts worth over 28 million rubles to eliminate unauthorized landfills, but in reality, the terms of the contracts were not complied with. The damage to the district budget exceeded 14 million rubles.
In exchange, the contractor renovated two offices in the district administration building free of charge, the press service of the Investigative Committee for Stavropol Krai reported today on its Telegram channel.

Two criminal cases of fraud have been opened against the contractor of municipal contracts, which are currently under investigation, the department clarified.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of March, a court in Stavropol sent the head of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ivan Kovalev, and his deputy, Nadezhda Pronskaya, to pretrial detention. The prosecutor's office demanded Kovalev's dismissal due to loss of trust.
