58 people were evacuated from the area adjacent to the Tuapse oil refinery. Of these, 26 remained at the evacuation center and were transferred to a temporary accommodation facility in a hotel.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on April 28, due to a fire at the Tuapse oil refinery, residents of nearby houses were evacuated to a temporary accommodation facility. During the fire, oil products boiled over and spilled from a storage tank onto the road, damaging several vehicles. This is the third attack on the Tuapse refinery in the past two weeks; the previous attacks occurred on April 16 and 20. A regional state of emergency has been declared throughout the Tuapse Municipal District since April 28. Environmentalists believe the scale of oil pollution in the Black Sea in Tuapse may be more significant than the consequences of the tanker disaster in the Kerch Strait.
A total of 58 people have been evacuated from the area adjacent to the Tuapse oil refinery as of the evening of April 28, according to the Krasnodar Krai task force.
By the evening, 26 residents remained at the evacuation center set up at School No. 6. A temporary accommodation center was opened for them at a hotel, and they are being accommodated there.
As a reminder, commentators on the Telegram channel "My Tuapse" expressed dissatisfaction with the opening of an evacuation center in a school building amid half-empty boarding houses and sanatoriums.
As a reminder, on April 24, after booms broke due to rising water levels in the Tuapse River, an oil spill occurred into the Black Sea. Authorities declared the spill "local," but the oil products spread to nearby villages. Fuel oil spread over a large area, and it is being cleaned up mainly by volunteers, local residents told the "Caucasian Knot" on April 26. The oil spill that entered the Black Sea following the drone attack in Tuapse is expanding, and the environmental outlook for the coast is not bright, as are the prospects for the resort season, scientists have indicated.
