The court seized approximately 900 million rubles worth of property belonging to the family of former Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, for the benefit of the state.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last August, at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the court confiscated 13 billion rubles worth of assets from the former Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov. On January 31, the cassation court upheld the decision.
The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar transferred the property of the family members of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, to the state, Interfax reported on April 24, citing the joint press service of the regional courts.
The press service reports that during his approximately 25 years as court chairman, Chernov engaged in illegal activities, secretly owning and managing business entities. He invested the proceeds in real estate, luxury cars, jewelry, and other luxury items. He facilitated the appointment of his ex-wife, Galina Chernova, as president of the Krasnodar Regional Notary Chamber, and his daughter, Elena Ryazanskaya, as vice president. All of them were involved in property re-registration schemes, as was their second daughter, Anastasia Shepel, who served as a judge in the Krasnodar Krai Arbitration Court until April 24 of this year.
Six land plots, 106 non-residential properties, two residential buildings, 22 million rubles deposited in the defendants' accounts at credit institutions, and 36 kilograms of gold bars and coins were transferred to the state. The combined value of the property and cash is approximately 900 million rubles. The notary activities of Chernova and Ryazanskaya, as well as those of Gennady Sidorenko and Larisa Serikova, who are under their control, have also been terminated.
