Aishat Khizrieva has been released from police custody.
Ayshat Khizrieva, a native of Chechnya who was the target of an attempted kidnapping in Novosibirsk, left the police station. She filed a report of stalking and attempted kidnapping.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," unknown individuals posing as police officers attempted to abduct Ayshat Khizrieva, who had fled Chechnya, in Novosibirsk. They claimed she was accused of theft, and her friends, with whom she was traveling, were accused of kidnapping. Ayshat went to the police to file a report, but contact with her was lost. She claimed she was in danger within her family.
In the video, Khizrieva said she was 21 years old and had voluntarily left her family. She claimed they were "trying to frame" her for the theft of 4 million rubles. Her father contacted her after her escape. "He threatens me that wherever I go, he'll find me. This man was in jail for murder," Aishat says in the recording.
Police in Novosibirsk released Aishat Khizrieva from the station after questioning and checking. According to law enforcement, the girl is not wanted on charges of theft.
"Aishat Khizrieva filed a complaint against unidentified individuals who forced her to get out of the car and go with them. In the complaint, she claims to have been threatened by her father. The police checked and found that Aishat is not wanted for theft, so the charges against her were unfounded," the human rights group Marem reported on its Telegram channel.
During a conversation with Aishat, the police "stated they could not help in any way, but suggested filing a report," notes the Crisis Group SK SOS (listed as a foreign agent).
Human rights activists emphasized that although Aishat is now free, "the threat to the girl remains."
