A teenager from Adygea is accused of justifying terrorism.

The criminal prosecution of a minor resident of Adygea was prompted by the publication of a video of the aftermath of a missile strike on a banned social network.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," courts in southern Russia regularly sentence local residents to prison terms for social media posts. It is impossible to determine the actual number of such sentences, as not all cases of justification of terrorism are included in public court records.

Investigators in Adygea have opened a criminal case against a teenager who published a video of the aftermath of a missile strike on a banned social network. The minor is charged with publicly justifying terrorism via the internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code carries a sentence of five to seven years in prison).

The teenager made the post that attracted the attention of the FSB and Center E in January. According to investigators, he posted "a video showing the aftermath of a devastating missile strike on apartment buildings and civilian vehicles in one of the towns." Commenting on the video, the young man "openly justified the terrorists' actions and gave a positive assessment of the consequences of the missile strike," according to a statement from the republic's Investigative Committee.

The minor has been charged and has been banned from certain activities. The agency did not specify whether the young man had accepted the charges. The investigation also does not specify where exactly the video showing the aftermath of the missile strike was filmed.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in early April, a 30-year-old resident of Cherkessk was arrested on similar charges. his comments containing "anti-Russian statements" attracted the attention of operatives from the Center for Combating Extremism.
