Gergebil District authorities have ruled out the threat of flooding.

Over the past 24 hours, a minimal rise in water level was recorded in the new reservoir formed due to a landslide. There is no threat to villages, the Gergebil District administration stated.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" newspaper, a lake was formed after a rockfall. If it breaks through, it could flood the villages of Gergebil and Kikuni. The local administration stated, urging residents to leave the riverbanks, including stopping riverbed clearing work, and those living near the floodplain to move to a safe place.

Over the past 24 hours, the water in the new lake formed due to landslides in the Lak District rose by only three centimeters, the lowest level in recent days, the Gergebil District administration reported on its Telegram channel.

"The situation with the newly formed lake in the Lak District" "The water level is under constant observation by specialists. According to operational monitoring data, there is no threat to populated areas or infrastructure," the authorities reported.

Experts will conduct a comprehensive survey of the area to assess the further development of the situation," the statement said.
