A court in Krasnodar has seized the property of former judge Elena Khakhaleva.

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar has accepted a claim filed by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to seize the property of former judge of the Krasnodar Regional Court Elena Khakhaleva and members of her family, including judge of the Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai Natalia Khakhaleva, for state revenue.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," the High Qualification Collegium of Judges sent materials to the Prosecutor General's Office for anti-corruption checks of four judges from Krasnodar Krai, including the daughter of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, and the sister of the former deputy chairperson of the same court, Elena Khakhaleva.

Investigators believe that in 2019, Khakhaleva went on business trips that were not She completed the necessary paperwork, and her absence was considered absenteeism. She missed a total of 127 workdays, while continuing to receive her salary, and earned 1.2 million rubles during her absence. In December 2021, the High Qualification Collegium of Judges of Russia authorized the initiation of a case against Khakhaleva, a week before which Khakhaleva left Russia. In May 2022, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia ordered a case against Khakhaleva on charges of official forgery and fraud, and the court arrested her in absentia. On January 27, 2025, Azerbaijani authorities informed the Prosecutor General's Office and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs that Elena Khakhaleva was detained at the Baku airport while attempting to fly to Dubai. In March, she left Azerbaijan for another country, said lawyer Shahla Humbatova, who represented Khakhaleva.

The lawsuit was filed under the federal law on monitoring the compliance of expenses of persons holding government positions with their income and concerns movable and immovable property. In addition to Elena and Natalia Khakhaleva, the defendants include Robert and Olga Khakhaleva. The court has accepted the application for consideration, the press service of the Krasnodar Krai courts reported today on their Telegram channel.

"One example of the defendants' illegal activity is the registration of highly liquid regional agricultural land through judicial mechanisms in favor of business entities affiliated with Khakhaleva's husband, Robert, as well as the illegal seizure of land totaling over 12,500 hectares," the press service said in a statement.

According to the court, this allowed the family to continuously enrich themselves and convert their income into movable and immovable property, expensive vehicles, luxury items, and other assets. Elena Khakhaleva's illegal commercial activities were assisted by her sister, Natalia, who, as a judge in the Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai, personally participated in Robert Khakhalev's release from paying multimillion-ruble taxes and other mandatory payments to the budget.

Also, between 2014 and 2020, property with a total value exceeding 100 million rubles was registered in Khakhaleva's mother's name.

"Currently, the court has taken interim measures in the form of a seizure of all movable and immovable property owned by the defendants and 36 other persons associated with them. The court has also seized all shares, stakes in authorized capital, cash, and immovable property belonging to commercial organizations associated with the defendants," the statement said.

The court hearing is scheduled for April 17, 2026.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that the property of Kuban Vice-Governor Andrei Korobka, his relatives, and associates, worth over 10 billion rubles, has been seized by the state. The court also dismissed the arrested official.
