The prosecutor's office has demanded lengthy prison sentences for top managers of Kuban's Gazprom.

The closing arguments in the case against the former executives of Gazprom Gas Distribution Krasnodar JSC, including former Kuban Legislative Assembly deputy Alexey Rudnev, have concluded. They are accused of bribery. The prosecutor demanded that they be sentenced to terms ranging from 16 to 22 years.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in May 2023, it became known that the former general director of Gazprom Gas Distribution Krasnodar, Alexei Rudnev, and his associates were accused of accepting bribes from developers for connecting properties to gas networks.
On April 7, the Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow concluded the closing arguments in the case of the former executives of Gazprom Gas Distribution Krasnodar JSC, Kommersant reports.
Nine defendants, including the company's former CEO and former deputy of the Krasnodar Krai Legislative Assembly Alexey Rudnev, are accused of accepting bribes totaling more than 114 million rubles for timely gas connections.
The prosecutor's office demanded that the accused executives of ASSMP Gazovik LLC, Sergei Asadov and Sergei Lebed, be sentenced to 16 years in prison; Natalya Tokarenko, founder of Inzhenerservis LLC, be sentenced to 16 years; Alexey Petrov, chief engineer of Sochigorgaz JSC, be sentenced to 17 years; and Oleg Butkevich, Konstantin Lyuty, and Stanislav Bariyev faces 18 years in prison. The maximum sentences requested for the alleged organizers, Alexei Rudnev and his deputy for construction, Alexander Savostyanov, are 22 years each, as well as fines. As requested by the prosecutor's office, they will serve their sentences in a maximum-security penal colony, with the exception of Tokarenko.
The defendants' lawyers stated that there is no evidence that they obstructed the connection of facilities in the event of bribe refusal, and therefore they should be acquitted.
