Flooding has damaged homes, appliances, furniture, and cars. Makhachkala residents have complained of problems with electricity and water supplies, transportation accessibility, and a lack of communication with emergency services. In the Republic of Dagestan, emergency immunization against viral hepatitis A has been launched in emergency zones due to recent floods and the risk of an outbreak of infections, the Dagestan Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) reported.
The agency named priority groups for immunization: workers in the food service industry, food retailers, and kitchen units. People evacuated from flooded areas to temporary accommodation centers, members of organizations involved in sewer cleaning, waste collection and disposal, and flood relief efforts.
According to the Caucasian Knot weather service, moderate rain is expected in Makhachkala today, with light rain expected on April 5th and 6th. The weather service is a partnership between Caucasian Knot and Gismeteo. The service allows you to adjust meteorological data for a more accurate forecast. The service is also available in a light version and in Caucasian Knot apps for Android and AndroidGO.
As a reminder, each flood victim in Dagestan is entitled to financial assistance in the amount of 15,600 rubles, the republic's authorities announced on March 31. Compensation has also been announced for those who lost property, health, or loved ones.
