Road access to six villages in Chechnya has been blocked. A total of 421 road infrastructure facilities have been damaged by flooding, according to the republic's Ministry of Highways, estimating the damage at 8 billion rubles.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" newspaper, more than 100 homes were completely destroyed and over 3,000 damaged in Chechnya during the flooding. Residents of the republic have filed 2,400 claims for compensation. By April 3, the water had receded from all flooded homes and garden plots in Chechnya.

"As of today, six villages remain impassable. Access to Lake Kezenoy-Am is secure, but the situation remains challenging due to landslides and snowfall. Transport is disrupted in the Galanchozh direction due to snow cover and landslides, making it impossible to determine the extent of damage to road infrastructure," Chechnya Today quoted the agency as saying.

A total of 421 road infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the flooding, costing over 8 billion rubles, the regional Ministry of Highways reported.

"As a result of the floods across the republic as of April 3, 2026, 421 road infrastructure facilities were damaged. Of these, 94 were regional roads. These are 91 road sections (187.5 km) and 3 bridges (344 linear meters). The estimated amount of damage to the road infrastructure is over 8 billion rubles," the agency quoted the ministry's statement.

First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic and Minister of Highways of Chechnya Isa Tumkhadzhiev emphasized that the first priority is to ensure access to settlements left without transport links. He added that it is also important to organize temporary access across bridges in Agishty and Avtury. Particular attention should be paid to strategically a significant object - the bridge in Argun.
