Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Akhmat Kadyrov for his services in physical education and sports.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on January 15, the Chechen parliament approved the appointment of Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, as deputy prime minister of the republic. On February 10, Akhmat Kadyrov, who lacks a higher education, boasted that he had been appointed to oversee education in Chechnya. Social media users greeted the news with ridicule. In February, the head of the Russian Ministry of Sport awarded Akhmat Kadyrov a medal for special personal merits and achievements in physical education.

Putin's order was published on the website of legal acts. It states that "for his services in the field of physical culture and sports and many years of conscientious work, a commendation from the President of the Russian Federation is being extended to Akhmat Ramzanovich Kadyrov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic and Minister of the Chechen Republic for Physical Culture and Sports."
A presidential commendation does not provide any benefits, but is taken into account when awarding the title of "Veteran of Labor." Federal civil servants receiving such a commendation receive a one-time cash bonus equal to two salaries, Kommersant reports.
It was announced on May 21, 2024, that Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, had been appointed Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Chechnya. In December 2025, it was reported that he had donated over 18 million rubles to the families of fire victims. Social media users wanted to know when he managed to earn such sums.
