A court in Nalchik has arrested a former military officer on charges of financing terrorism.

The Nalchik Garrison Military Court has ordered a former serviceman accused of eight counts of financing terrorism to be remanded in custody for two months.

On March 27, the Nalchik Garrison Military Court remanded in custody a former serviceman named B., who is accused of financing terrorism.

An investigator has filed a motion to remand the former serviceman, who is accused of committing eight crimes under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (financing terrorism), according to a report published on the website court.

The court ordered B. to be remanded in custody for two months, until May 25 of this year.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in February in Kaspiysk a local resident was detained, accused of collecting funds for a cryptocurrency wallet to purchase weapons for illegal armed groups.
