Azamat Orzaliev was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, the names of at least 193 killed fighters from Karachay-Cherkessia have been publicly released.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by March 20, authorities and security forces acknowledged at least 192 fighters from Karachay-Cherkessia as killed in the special military operation.
Azamat Orzaliev was killed in a military operation, the Khabezsky District administration reported.
In 2023, Azamat volunteered for the Special Military Operation for the first time, and in August 2024, he re-signed. He was killed on October 1, 2024, according to a post on the district administration's Telegram channel.
Thus, at least 192 fighters from Karachay-Cherkessia have been officially recognized as killed in the North Caucasus Military District zone.
The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Northern Military District Statistics: Casualties Mounting in Southern Russia."
Earlier, on February 26, authorities in the Khabezsky District reported that Muradin Konov had been killed in the military operation.
State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits," which describes the stories of the slain soldiers. "As a family of retired military personnel, I only receive 12,000 rubles a month for my two minor children," said the widow of one of the victims.
