Two fighters from Dagestan were killed in a military operation.
Bekir Gashimov and Abakar Makhsumov were killed in the military operation. Since its beginning, at least 1,865 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by March 13, authorities and security forces had named at least 1,863 fighters from Dagestan killed in the SVO zone.
Bekir Gashimov, born in 1987, served in the military since May 2023 as a private and artillery gunner. He was killed on March 4, 2026, in the Dobropolsky district of the Donetsk People's Republic.
Abakar Makhsumov, born in 1975, was mobilized in 2022. He served as a major and commander of a special assault brigade. He was killed on February 3, 2026, in the village of Poltavka in the Donetsk People's Republic, the Rutul district administration reported today.
The death of Muslim Muslimov, a native of the Rutul district, was previously reported in February.
Thus, at least 1,865 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.
The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "NVO Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia."
