The head of a Rostov chemical plant has been arrested for embezzlement of defense procurement materials.

One of the managers of a plant in the Rostov region is suspected of abuse of power in the manufacture of products critical to military operations.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," the former general director of the Tenth Bearing Plant in Rostov-on-Don, Alexander Dyachenko, pleaded guilty to a 2.2 billion ruble fraud case involving state defense contracts.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with violations at the Kamensky plant in the Rostov region. "Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Directorate for the Rostov Region have uncovered instances of abuse of office by one of the managers of the Kamensky Combine during the production of products that were in high demand during a special military operation," the agency said in a statement, as quoted by Interfax.

According to the investigation, the defendants entered false information into product documentation. The FSB Directorate for the Rostov Region did not specify which official at the combine was involved. According to the Spark service, the plant is headed by Yuldash Atashev.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 285.4 of the Criminal Code (abuse of office during the execution of a state defense order), which carries a penalty of up to eight years in prison.

According to TASS, the Kamensky Combine has been engaged in the production of weapons and ammunition, as well as industrial alcohols and chemical liquids. This is the city-forming enterprise of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.

"Caucasian Knot" also wrote that at the end of 2023, the former director of the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G.M. Beriev, Yuri Grudinin, was found guilty of abuse of office and sentenced to five years in prison. For the combined sentences of the two convictions, he was sentenced to six years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.
